Packwild Exped MegaMat 10 Review

Really happy with this camping mattress
Really happy with this camping mattress. Was hard to fork out so much dough for a camping pad but bc of my back and hip pain issues and our first camping experience as a family I wanted to make it the best experience possible so I went with this one based on the reviews. This mattress was well with the $$$. It is very high quality, toasty warm, and so so comfortable (once I found the right inflation level for me). I just had to play with it a bit as I can't have too hard of a mattress for my hips. You can get it really firm too if prefer though. This mattress was so comfortable I now have it on my side of the bed at home as we have a firm mattress that I couldn't sleep on without hip pain. Now I sleep through the night well with minimal pain and my husband still enjoys the firm bed on his side :) I also like the fact that even though it's air filled it doesn't feel as much like it as those cheap air mattresses. Maybe it's all the insulation but it doesn't try and roll you off the edges when you move around. These make excellent quick comfy beds for company too. I wouldn't buy it for backpacking/hiking though. It's pretty bulky and a bit too heavy to want to carry it on a minimalist trip. Car camping its great though. Very happy with purchase.

Go on, treat yourself!
Amazing camp mattress. They're expensive but so worth it- I've never been so comfortable while camping. They're easy to inflate and deflate, and to pack. They are bulky and heavier than a standard thermarest, but about ten times more comfortable. I'm recommending this to all my friends.

Worth every penny!!
Totally enthusiastic about this purchase. Yes it is pricier, but super-comfortable. I don't sleep well on camping gear normally and air mattresses typically don't give me good sleep.. they are either too hard, or too soft, or leak or hard to inflate.. this product solved all those concerns.. Soft, but firm, like a good mattress at home. And it still is inflatable and packs reasonably tight. My only grumble is that one cannot choose to by this model with the "Schnozzle" inflation bag they have on the other product Exped MegaMat Lite, as that is sooo convenient for inflation. We got both so we use the Schnozzle from one to inflate both..

Great mat if you have the room to store and transport
This is a quality mat that is reasonably comfortable. Considering what it is, it's as comfortable as I have found out there. The included pump is laughable but ultimately can get the job done if you have the time. The mat is definitely quality material and appears well made/durable. I don't like that you have to store these flat to maintain good results long-term. The memory foam portion is quite thin, but does make a difference for comfort. I would buy again.

TOP

Exped Schlafmatte Megamat 10 LXW

Worth the money for a good night's sleep!
I have owned & camped with 6 self-inflating pads and a luxury-lite cot. This is by far the most comfortable of the lot! The pad really is as comfortable as my bed at home. Sleeps warm in cooler weather. Great for my motorcycle camping trips. Had a 250 pound side sleeper tell me it was great - at no point was their any part of the body that fully compressed the mattress. Same for me! Easy to deflate and repack as well. Instructions for pump use would be helpful -- when compressing the pump be sure your palm seals the opening in the middle of the "donut", then uncover the hole while the "donut" refills & repeat. Pump works kind of slowly, but well & packs small. Also comes with a patch kit in a pocket on the inside of the bag.
